Horrors

(While there are Horrors that ‘live’ in N’Rolav, this is not the population that is being addressed here.)

Horrors stumble around the Dead Zone to the north of the Verthedge Forest. Although reports indicate they are a form of Human, they have been twisted and perverted beyond Human norm. It is believed that they are the living remnants of an army that once besieged Balthazar’s Fortress. Those warriors who died have been interred in graves and kept from reforming by demonic power. Those who survived are rightly named Horrors.

Their skin has toughened and their limbs grown warped and clawed. They restlessly roam the Dead Zone attacking any who attempt to travel there. While they are difficult to classify, it appears they have varying levels of strength and ability. Larger concentrations of the stronger ones, often called the Zone Horror, appear the closer to Balthazar’s Fortress one travels. It may be due to the Fortress itself or the larger amount of noxious fumes. The only creatures they do not appear to attack are the Giant Corpse Grazers who also inhabit this area.

There appears to be no social structure, nor a breeding population. These creatures seem cursed to be the way they are.

Marron: “They smell... but that can be overcome, especially when they're nice enough to die quickly and let me have shiny things”

Sorynn: “But whoever they once were, they are not that way any longer.”
